Pinkscapes is a series of prints created through the Gum Bichromate process on watercolor fine art paper.
Growing up in Brazil around a heteronormative environment, pink was a forbidden color for me as a boy. Now as gay a man, not conforming with what was expected of me, I developed a great interest in the color.
I have created this body of work to express my rejection of the norms set up in society. The prints, landscape photographs turned monochromatic neon pink through the same photographic printing process used to create the very first color photograph, transform a traditionally straight male dominated field into an inclusive environment.
